I grew up in northern Montana - went ice fishing every winter. That's the first ice house I've seen with a satelite dish. Nice walleye ! Dave D.

That lake is called Lacs des milles Lacs and it is a 1-1/2 drive west of Thunder Bay, Ont. It is the best walleye fishery in Northern Ontario by far. It is fished hard all summer and winter with no negative affect to the walleye population. The ice was just over 2' with very little snow so most people are just driving on. With the cold weather we've been having, there will be at least 3 more inches now. By the end of February there's usually over 3' of ice and we need to add extensions to the auger. There's probably over 1000 ice huts on the lake and it could easily hold 5000 more without an issue. If you were ever to make one ice fishing trip in your life, it should be to this lake. They rent huts on the ice or cabins on shore. |

Man o man am I jealous! We had some cold weather, and I thought we'd play on the ice for a lot of Jan. Then we got warmer weather and rain. So I can't go on the ice and I can't get any lures thru it. Iread about fishing and look at pictures. That is a huge fat walleye! Makes me want to go check a lake or a pond to see if there's just a little bit of open water I can cast to. I'm glad u posted that fish. Westwood KS 66205 |
