Hello to all members,
after filling my tackle box with new lures I decided to fish a different location. I grabbed my gear and headed to the Hackensack river in Teanack. I met a fellow fisherman and talked with him for a few minutes and then went off to find a spot to fish. A little duck walked out of the woods and I just followed the duck along the trail and came up to the next fishing spot. The duck went back into the woods. I cast my line and nothing was bitting. After casting a few more times I thought I had a bite but the line broke. I got set up again and continued to fish. I caught some branches and lost some more lures, but I did catch enough branches to start a camp fire. I hope the fish have fun with the lures I left behind and all the branches I pulled out of the water. I still had a great time fishing and decided to call it a day.
My next fishing adventure was at a local pond that is loaded with many different kinds of fish. I cast my line and landed a plastic bag. Every body else was catching fish and I was catching plastic bags, and yes I did lose some more lures. Maybe this is just an initiation into fishing. Still, I keep at it, I never got discouraged that I wasn't catching fish, I just enjoyed every minute of it.
I discovered Cabellas and Bass Pro Shops have the best prices on lures. I was able to buy 3 lures for the price I was paying for 1 at local stores in my area. I now have a decent selection of lures and baits and headed out once again to Teanack. I fished for a while and went to several different places along the water. I did not loose any lures this time but I did not catch any fish again. I stopped at one last area just before I was going to leave, and there floating in the water was a lure that I lost the last time I was there. I put my line in the water and caught my lure. I guess that does not count as catching a fish. I wonder if I am the only fisherman who has caught a lure?
Well, I have been fishing every chance I get and still not catching anything, but I am having the time of my life.
Thanks again to the members who posted there welcome messages and I have a feeling that I will become a life member.
