Good morning everyone!
I was discharged from the hospital on August 23, 2007. The surgery was not completed in it's entirety. The cancer tumor is so well mixed in with the blood vessels that supply the pancreas, that if they removed the tumor I would have never the operating room alive. So, the bottom line is this: The doctor's say that I mmost likely, I have about 2-6 months left on this earth, however they are not sure. They said that the time that I have left may be shorter or it could be longer. The 2-6 month thing is just a guess on their part. Let's hope that the time is longer!
The tumors on my right kidney were not touched. By doing anything to them right now would only increase the likely hood of complications with no real chance of increasing my life span. The doctors want me to have a quality of life now instead of of pain, sickness and other things associated with the cancer.
I will be living here in Wisconsin for about another month trying to get all of my affairs in order, then I will be moving to Iowa to finish out my life. I will be living with my parents and my 3 sisters, my brother, and their spouses will be taking care of me.
May all of you have a good, healthy life, and may all of you catch the fish of your dreams!
Sincerely,
Bill Mumme,
