Your right Pete. I wasn't comfortable at first going to the LaCross meet. Didn't know what to espect. Glad that I went and took the kid with me. I think he had more fun than I did, but then I'm a stick in the mud. Smiler<!--graemlin::)-->

What a year...Woowee! I can't say enough about member meets. The scenery, the fishing and camping but most of all, the people. I have been blessed with the opportunity to meet many folks across this great country of ours...I was able to make new friends and hug the day lights out of old ones...This and the BB is where the value to this club lies. I have been truly blessed to be a small part of this club, to have so many friends...

For me, this is life. But there are draw backs...How to see everyone every year. This eats at me continuously. I am sure that others feel the same. There just doesn't seem to be an answer at this time. I have watched as folks that never attended a meet before, discover the joy of getting to meet other members! AND have some fishin' fun.

There are many different fishing, camping and site seeing opportunities at every member meet. Something for everyone. A great way to spend a vacation! For those of you reading this that have never attende a meet before, please do! You won't regret it! For those of you that stick to pretty much one specific meet, ya really need to branch out. Your next best friend is only a member meet away! See ya at the fishin' hole! Wink<!--graemlin:;)--> Smiler<!--graemlin::)-->

    Pete
I agree with 99.9% of your post. However, and I do not want this taken the wrong way., maybe those that "Stick to one meet" are more than happy with what they have experienced and do not want to "branch out". As always it is everyones choice to go where they fell comfortable.

Pete you might just be the member who has met the most members for 2007. That would kind of make you the father of the board. Smiler<!--graemlin::)--> I have no regrets about going to my first member meet and look forward to going to many more. I would recomend for all members to try to make a meet somewhere. My 1st choice for a meet to attend was the N.E. meet but the timing was wrong. Then I saw the meet in the finger lakes it seemed a long ways to go to meet strangers. But through the BB I got to know a charactor called turnip. So I decided what the heck I'm going. When I got there things just clicked I had a grape time. I think the world of all those that I met there. Before that meet they were just words on a screen. So if anyone is thinking about maybe going to a meet just do it. You might just have a grape time. Ever since I have returned from the Raystown meet, I find myself returning to the Finger Lakes slide show. And this usually pushes me to look over the pictures from the rest of the 2007 meets. In the back groud the music "cool change" is playing, and it causes me to pause. So many wonderful folks, big honest smiles...I can hardly wait for 2008! I will attend fewer meets next year but the experience will be just as big, have as great an impact on me...Repeat meets! A reunion if you will. Woowee! I wonder, how does everyone else manage the long off season? I know, there is ice fishing and for some there never is an off season. Perhaps I should start looking to the South...I am sure to find several club members willing to wet a line, tell a story or just gather around a campfire. Enjoying each others company. The music has stopped. The slide show is over...This reminds me that tomorrow is another day! Wink<!--graemlin:;)--> Smiler<!--graemlin::)-->
