Hey guys. I thought we should have our own thread for the 2007 Clinton Lake, IL Meet. Don't have to weed through all the other Illinois meets. I don't know if you can move posts to other locations or not. But I am going to post our day here.

Me and my Brother In-Law,(KippT - Not a Member) got there just after 7am. BRKAT was there and we got to meet John H and The Basshole for the first time. Sorry I didn't get to fish along side getdanet1 and his partner.



We headed to a Walleye hole with BRKAT and got nothing there. Decided to go up into Jungle Cove and try the standing trees. Caught one tiny Largemouth Bass. Spent 3 hours cruising through there. Time to move on...

We headed up to the discharge area to meet with John H and The Basshole. They were almost at their limit on White Bass. I didn't catch anything with a Rat-L-Trap as was suggested. KippT Caught a Smallie and after awhile he caught a White Bass. I was tired of not catching anything...so I broke out the heavy equipment...5'6" Light Rod and Reel with a slip bobber and a minnow. Boy that was my ticket. I started by catching a Catfish and got him to the boat, only to have him break my 4 lb. mono line break while trying to get him in the boat. Re-tie with a circle hook and more minnows(dead ones too). Cat #2, #3 and #4. Oh this is fun!!! Well we caught 8 cats all together. Here is our pic of Cats:


KippT had 2 Cats and a White Bass and I had 6 Cats on the day.

Then we headed back to the ramp, showed off our catch and snapped some photos. John H and The Basshole had a nice string of White Bass and some nice Catfish. I didn't get pics of those.

Was a nice trip...but that drive has to be my limit (3 hours one-way) for a one day trip.

I need to take more action shots from the boat to really show how much fun we had.
