This post thread is what people made it and we gracefully moved the whole NAFC North East Meet to another location due to, We can't compete with the new group who took over our sites as our finances are not above thier hundreds of thousands to our mere 2-3 thousand.. It's a new group and not associated with the REAL 7th ANN. NE Meet. Just a new group with money.. |

I just can't seem to stay out of the hospital. Now, I'm pretty much laid up and housebound don't go out much. Sold my big boat, still trying to sell the little one. Can't use them anymore. I appreciate the time you called me on the phone, when I was down and out. Sure glad you are still with it and the NE Guys. I hear from Turtle quite a bit and SSCasteel also. Anyway, just wanted to say hello and glad your still around. I don't get on here very much anymore, because of all the bad stuff going on last year. Anyway, anyone reading this, just be glad that you can still go fishing, and be glad for people like Bill and Franny devoting themselves to projects like this. It is no easy task. Thanks for people like this.....Your Friend Frank ( wish I was there ) |

My son Wayne will be there, Daryl will be there if her health allows it and my grandson Tony will be there. I havent responded before because it has been about 6 months since i last visited this bulletin board. There was a time when i checked the BB twice a day----every morning before leaving for work and again when i got home. But the board has changed and i have lost interest in it. Back when this BB was new, we had a great bunch of guys (and gals) who were dedicated fishermen, interested in helping each other and the newbies. Now, as far as I can see, the BB is just a big BS session. The membership has changed and with that comes a change in the topics and the general feeling of comraderie we once had is gone. But, we will be there in May just like always. I cant wait to see everyone again and to enjoy the great fishing on Lake George and Lake Champlain. ROBBIE NH |

Originally posted by: davesett2000 on 1/4/2006 7:25:51 PM Well Hawkman I personally have some thoughts for your "BS" session comment...
FIRST off...there are a number of folks that have medical conditions that prevent them from being on the water a lot...still OTHERs of us are planning for major LIFE changes over the next couple of years...are you trying to say that we can't come on here and BS a while <!--graemlin::confused:--> <!--graemlin::(--> I'd like to THINK not <!--graemlin::o-->
Secondly, it's a standing joke among we fisherman that we tend to exaggerate sometimes <!--graemlin::eek:--> that being said, there are STILL a LOT of good folks here that are willing to spend time helping other "Fisher-Persons"...
I personally have posted topics AND Archives of OTHER'S posts for other Members such as...
Links for New Members to various webpages on the Club website...
Tips for Using the BB for New Members to help them navigate the BB, post their pics etc...
I've started topics about River Fishing
And Finding Lake Maps on the 'Net
And Tips for Fishing a Strange Lake
And in the Member's Tips Forum MANY others have responded to questions about fishing and ALL it entails...
ANd there are MANY other "question and answer" topics spread through-OUT the BB <!--graemlin:;)--> by folks who "truly give a sh*t" ..AND answered by folks who are giving knowledge to others here <!--graemlin::cool:--> ouchitabassangler, sscasteel, The Rod Tosser, Ray White, Robert Horn, badchad...just to name a FEW of the folks that have spent MANY hours on here advising others and sharing their knowledge <!--graemlin:;)-->
So MAYBE a valid question is...HOW MUCH time have you actually spent checking these things out <!--graemlin::confused:--> <!--graemlin::(--> and actually taking the TIME to read all of that <!--graemlin::o--> <!--graemlin::(-->
On the OTHER side of the coin, we here on the BB have seen SO MUCH hatred posted here about things that have happened up there in the Northeast <!--graemlin::eek:--> <!--graemlin::(--> and since dang near NONE of us were there, ALL we can see is "one side versus the other" <!--graemlin::eek:-->
Get PAST the ugliness and get ON with the Meets <!--graemlin::)-->
There's NO question that the Northeast Meet was the 1st Meet...and is the Longest Running one too <!--graemlin::)-->
But a GOOD number of us have gotten disillusioned with the rhetoric being used in the squabbles <!--graemlin::(-->
It was WORSE than the political disagreements that MANY of us have engaged in <!--graemlin::eek:--> and a LOT of folks got tired of seeing the negativity towards Meets in general <!--graemlin::o-->
That ALL being said, I wish you ALL a wonderful meet <!--graemlin::cool:--> as I truly enjoyed MY 1st one in LaCrosse last summer <!--graemlin::cool:--> and am planning on going back this summer too <!--graemlin::eek:--> <!--graemlin:;)--> <!--graemlin::cool:-->
And MAYBE...someday...I'll try to make it up that way...IF I'd be welcome <!--graemlin::eek:--> <!--graemlin::confused:--> |

If it wasn't like that in previous years then it is a wonder that it survived at all. The members of this club that participate in this web site are a bunch of wonderful folks...Very helpful, carring and know how to have some fun. I plan on attending my first ever meet in LaCross this year. And I like to think that the members of this club conduct themselves properly no matter which meet they attend. hawkman there is some BS but that is just a part of what goes on here...I can't begin to tell you how many questions I've asked and there is always a member ready to help me out. A rookie to the site? Yes, that is true. But I'll take the folks from this site & club any time! I am proud to say I am a member! It is nice to know that there is a meet in the NE. When I look at 2007 and plan a trip, I can tell ya that will be one I'll look hard at. I might even try to talk Howard into joining me.

I STILL DON'T KNOW IF ALL SHE SAYS IS BS OR NOT; BECAUSE I'VE NOT RUN ACCROSS ANY PERSON OR PERSONS THAT COULD POSSABLY BE AS BAD AS SHE SAYS. I'VE SEEN HER POST ON THE MEETS THREAD FOR AT LEAST FOUR TIMES AND SHE KEEPS BRINGING UP THE SAME-O, EVERY TIME. SHE OBVIEOUSLY IS HOLDING A HEAVY GRUGE AGAINST A FEW MEMBERS HERE; BUT I'VE SEEN NOTHING LIKE SHE DESCRIBES IN HER COMPLAINTS. SORRY FRANNY; BUT YOUR OUTTA LINE, AND I THINK YOU SHOULD BACK OFF. NO ONE WANTS TO READ WHAT THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND ABOUT SOMETHING THAT HAPPENED BEFORE OUR TIME. I'M TRYING TO BE AS DECENT AS I CAN ABOUT THIS; BUT YOU JUST WONT LET IT GO. PLEASE TRY... |

Originally posted by: WalleyeWayne on 1/5/2006 5:43:24 AM VTFranny I've been here for several years now and take offense to some of your comments as well as the misguided remarks from Hawkman. First off, firing "darts" at people and then hiding behind the injury thing just ain't cutting it. There are many, many members on here with debilitating injuries but seldom do I hear them complain and/or hide behind them the way you & your mate Bill, does. As for the "BS" remark, I gotta take that as a direct mark towards me, given I spend a lot of time on here. When ya kid around a lot, ya gotta wonder when enough is too much and if you are even being taken seriously. When you're on here as much as several of the members are, there really is only so much you can talk about before some of it becomes redundant. I'll offer anything I can to another member, trying not to come off as a know-it-all, then, as usual, throw in the odd <!--graemlin::p-->er to try to leave the reader with a smile. If that's construed by some as "BS", then I'm guilty. I believe most of the members will try to provide information to any other member (old or new) if/when they can. You & yours have done well with your meet but you really aren't helping yourselves by slandering others. That, if I recall correctly, was the true reason VTtroller's posting rights were restricted. You can choose (obviously) to go on dissing people here on the BB, or you can make peace with yourselves and better spend your time & energies positively preparing for your 2006 Meet. I wish you success with your upcoming meet and hope that you come to the realization that the NAFC BB Members can be your supporters, not your nemesis! |

The changes to this board have been tremendous. I could ramble on here forever, but I choose not to. I appologize to anyone who feels offended. I really wasn't talking about you. And my comments had nothing to do with the Northeast Meet. If any of you wish to attend, I'll be the first to shake your hand and welcome you. And I will gladly show you some of the best "hotspots". I was reading through some of the post here and I do remember those original days, it was tons of fun getting to no everybody. That sure was a long time ago, huh? I remember us coming over from that original site together, remember....
Something most of you don't know but back in the day before the club launched OUR website it was only the mags that kept us connected. I remember, I use to read through all the mags over and over waiting for the next issue. This went on from 1989 until 1996...
After years of just reading and waiting, the club ventured into the website. I remember reading something about it in early 1996 and finally the club officially launched the opening of the site.
Steve Pennaz gave us the exciting news in his "An Open Line" article on page 10 of that Magazine dated May/June 1996. That was also the year the magazine had changed binding methods...
Wishing you both a wonderful New Year.... |
