I thought that I would let you all know that on this coming February 28th, I will be having surgery on my right kidney. I lost my entire left kidney in 1997 due to cancer. This surgery is to remove at least a portion of my right kidney due to cancer. The prognosis right now is only fair at best and that depends on how extensive the removal of the cancerous tissue has to be. The surgeons will also be removing my gall bladder as there is a unknown growth on it. Is this growth also cancerous? Maybe, maybe not. According to my surgeons, that with my history with cancer, they will not say no until pathology completes their tests. Assuming that everythings goes as planned, I will not be able to do anything for at least 6 weeks after discharge from the hospital. Also, I lost my job on February 2 due to corporate restructuring and downsizing, so I do not have health insurance to cover the cost of this surgery. Right now, all that I'm asking for is your prayers that I make it through this tough time. My family will be coming back home from Texas, Nebraska and Iowa to be with me.
I'll catch up with you all later and may you all have the best of luck in your fishing travels.
