In that video they said the lake only had splake ( instead of lake trout). I did some looking ,and looking and looking and could not find any info on that. I even went to (should have done this first)  http://www.fish.state.pa.us/stockwa..._prior.htm

and Pa does NOT stock splake and has not for at least 9 years. Givin' that splake are a cross breed and donot spawn they must be confused on that point and wasted a TON of my time. Splake are a tought fish to catch were as laketrout will put the feed bag on if you stay on them till the dinner bell rings.........whew was that a long winded talk about nothing to do with this lake.............hey how far are the restrooms for our group site ?

Sorry to hear ya won't be making the meet, Bro!  Nice map of where the group site is, and your right about the shower/restrooms, about 200' away.  The pavilion is terrific, lights, electrical outlets all around, plenty of tables and a large stone fireplace at one end...

This is why I have stated that the weather will not be an issue for taking meals or leasure time around the fire!

For those of you that are not familiar with the area, Raystown Lake is about five miles from Huntingdon, Pa, Huntingdon county.  I will have two contour & hot spot maps there for anyone who needs to study the area.

The video was OK Dave but someone (not sure which one) made it sound like splake was in there...........if lake trout and brookies are there they have cross breed by them sleves to produce splake.
Thanks for the info on the bathroom.

First off, I will bring the info for this meet to the Finger Lakes meet.  Second, last year we all planed our own meals but since we were all cooking in the same area we decided to do pot luck...Everyone shared what they brought, and everyone helped with the clean-up.  As far as I know there will be two coffee pots going.  At least three kitchens will be there.  There are no formal menu plans...Sooo, I guess we are traveling by the seat of our pants!

Tomorrow I will start spliting wood for the campfires...

Dave, sorry to hear ya can't make it. I hope you can find something compatible for parts. Hopefully things start going your way! Pete, if you'de of let me know I could of stopped over this weekend and helped ya split some firewood! Ed, there are woods all around our campsites! Ed, don't bring me a rib-eye! We are trying to figure out what will work. We pretty much planned to each their own but last year their were only a few that showed up so it turned out that a few meals and breakfasts were more or less pot-luck wich worked out pretty well. If anyone has some ideas on this let us know, so far as I know this year will be pretty much the same. I might grab a bunch of burgers and buns to have a hamburgers night?

I will be bringing dogs and some sausage with buns...Coffee, creamer & sugar.  Not sure what else.  Oh, pop corn for the campfire!  Scott, I am also going to bring some snacks for the boat.  I didn't ask ya to help me out with wood because I didn't know when I would have time to work on it...I won't start on it until after lunch today...I must make a run to BPS and work on some odds & ends this morning.  Your welcome to stop over if you wish...I sure am gonna miss Joe this year...

That is great news, Fred!  I am looking forward to meeting and fishing with you!

I went to split wood today and discovered that the majority of the wood will not need to be split...It is just the right size!  So, I guess I'll put most of my gear in the boat in order to make room for a whole bunch of fire wood!

Glad to hear you can make it Fred! Pete, sorry I only now saw your post, I had to sleep yesterday afternoon due to working last night. Glad to hear most of it didn't need split. Ed, thanks buddy! Pete, I'm gonna bring lunch meat, cheese and bread to make sandwiches while out fishing. I'll get in touch with ya on sodas and stuff like that.  Do we still need a coffee maker?

Art, I sent you a PM.

UPDATE:

For those of you that arrive on the 23rd, you will need to see me about registering for the site.  For those that are arriving later, you will have to register at the gate house.  Everyone must stop at the gate house to inform them what group you are with and receive a vehicle pass.  I will have the NAFC banner displayed in front of the group site.

You can set-up your camp kitchen under the pavillion and place your chairs around the fireplace!  If someone wants to bring a radio, there are plenty of recepticals.  Please ask your questions now...I leave for the Finger Lakes on the 14th and won't get back home untill sometime on the 20th.

FYI, the parking spaces at the individual camping sites are big enough to back your boat and vehicle into.  They are designed to accommodate RVs.
