I agree with and would like to see all of the members meets ( chapter and non chapter)  from across the U.S. get together in one place for a 25th celebration.. 

 However I want to clarify your statment above to members reading this Topic !   The Meet in La Crosse is not for Wisconsin  members only , nor is the Gwinn meet!!  The La Crosse meet and the Gwinn have always been and will alway be (national meets) open to any and all members of this Club from acrossed the U.S. and the world !

With all that has been said I agree with the idea of a 25th Anniversary Celebration. It would be nice if the club and mag would get involved. So that the members not on line could bennefit as well. Now speaking of anniversaries all of you should try to make the 10 th annual Northeast meet at Rogers Rock next spring. You have two lakes to chose from. It was the first annual meet and it would be nice to see someone from each of the other meets there. You are all good people and I would be honored to meet you.

  Here are my thoughts on a region map. This is my third version trying to keep a region down to a 1 day drive for anyone. The East may need to be broke into 2. It just doesn't seem posible to break it into 4 regions and make it equitable (I don't know what the big word means, it just seemed  to fit).

I really like what I'm seeing here so far. Anybody else got any ideas ??? As for the 25th Anniversary of the NAFC National Celebration, If  we do have it close to the NAFC HQ Bldg, we need to have someone do some scouting for a campsite that would accmodate a large number of members. If it's a campground, we'll need a huge group site and probably a bunch of RV sites too. I can only hope that the NAFC would get involved in a club wide meet that would be celebrating the club's 25th Anniversary. As for dividing the country up into 4 regions, I think that is a good idea as well and should be on the agenda's for all of the meets between now and the National celebration. I propose that Each group of members that hold a "Meet", appoiunt a board of officers, as you would in a chapter, and hold a meeting at each meet regarding the local chapter business and then have discussions on ideas for the National Celebration. There's much more to be discussed here on this post about the National Celebration, we're just getting started, so buckle your seatbelts and enjoy the ride....  BD

I don't know about a slate of officers, but I would suspect there will be conversations around the ole campfire on this topic...I will do my part and try to write them down so that they are not lost...At least for the meets I attend.

I'll get involved if you want.  That being said, we don't have a meet currently in Oregon.  And not all that many members out here.  You want a cooler location, come West young men and women.  Spring, Summer, Winter, and Fall are all mild compared to other parts of the country.  Humidity is very low comparitively.  Opportunities are endless with many lakes, rivers, bays and the Pacific Ocean on our doorstep.  Camping and outdoor recreation is a way of life here.  The campgrounds along the coast are non-stop.  Charter fishing for Salmon, Halibut, Bottom Fish, Tuna, go out of every port.  Steelhead or Salmon in most of the coastal rivers prety much year around.  Lakes full of Trout, Bass, Pannies, Cats.  Sturgeon fishing in many of the bays and a few of the larger rivers.  Fly here, drive here, bring your boat, rent a boat, hire a guide.

OK Dog, as we discussed I am in to help with the National celebration idea. It is very doable. All we need is a little help from our friends through out the country. Sounds like a good time to me.

this year is the 20th Anniversary, so I think that gives us around 4 yrs to get our chit together.

We need someone to speak for us to the club management.  By phone, Email and up close and personal.  I do believe that our best chance for success is to have the club play a major roll in putting this together.

Sorry 'bro...I can't find the info anywhere....I even did a few searches on the Internet.

 

I DID see one post on here that said they were looking for pics for the July/August/September mag because of the 20th Anniversary though....so I gotta wonder if it's in that time frame. There's got to be a Charter Member here somewhere that would know that info...seein's how the Ed's haven't posted here yet.

I also have to believe that the sooner we can find out one way or another about the Club being willing to be the "lead" on this, the better off we will be. It would s*ck to start putting things in place...then have them do something on their own

The last mag, page 27, NAFC estabilished in June 1988. The first issue of North American Fisherman arrives in members` mailboxes.
