Everyone that switch to IE8 has had the same problem, you can't post pictures either. I switched back to IE7, no problems since.

The problems you had with IE8 can be solved very easily by selecting the Compatibility View Icon just to the right of the address bar. This corrects the problems with the "Smileys".
