I think your spelling is correct, also, "plew" is what the old fur trappers called a beaver pelt.. |

Ya, I got to brag to my family that I learned a new word on the fishing club website when I looked up "plew." All I could think of was a beaver skin hat.

Comment on Plew and so forth, actually the fur was used for "felt" in the making of hats, the advent of the silk tophat helped kill the beaver trade as well as the animals being trapped out in much of their range.
Good movie on fur trappers is "Mountain Men" with Charlton Heston and Brian Keith. |
