I have been noticing that as car manufacs. concentrate on more  less wind resistant and higher milage vehicles, their size gets smaller. And it will effect our favorite sport;  FISHING!!!!

I just hope it's not an organized way to eliminate towing and affect many Sports [esp. fishing]

Perhaps it is an oversite on the manufac's. which in turn means they are shooting themselves in the foot [for sales] on vehicles that can't tow something the public needs/wants.

It seems those who tow a boat trailer, / or any type trailer for that matter / we will end up [or being forced to buy] using a Pick-up, Van, or SUV.  Thank God some or most Pick-ups still have a metal rear bumper

And in many cases  today's newer vans and suv's have to be equipped with a new hitch and ball & wiring at additional cost to the owner/buyer. //  Darn fiberglass and plastic bumpers as cost cutters on todays vehicles !!

Honda wants $600.00 just to install a new trailer hitch on my Honda Element. = Way too much.!!! I'll go with someone who has a trailer hitch & boat already, or bank fish.

So in a way.. Fishing, hunting, moving, 5th wheelers are all being affected by the smaller size of  the newer crop of vehicles.

And there is no apparent solution in sight either.

I say "SCREW" the car manufacs & gas companies.  I'm keeping my 85 Blazer and 87 Dodge 3/4 pu.  I'm willing to spend the extra on gas to tow my boat.  I learned my lesson after selling my motor home due to gas costs. I'll be damed if it will force me to sell my other two.  Have to have some kind of relaxation.  And that's lake fishing in my boat.

I will just keep the fine gass Guzzling piece of FOMOCO Iron that I have and keep it alive with parts found in the auto graveyard till the end of my time....

Then I don't care what the Auto Mfg do....

I will never stop driving 4x4 pickups.  I would rather pay more at the pumps than not every use my boat, hunt, or go camping again.
