Thanks guys, First time in a while able to post again. Maybe it will stick this time. I look forward to hosting the TIE once again and passing on the magic when it's done it's damage on the local Steelhead populations. JustDave

So how has the tie been doing? I didn't fish much in 2008 & I've been avoiding this site because it was loading so slowly. This is my first post on the new look, so maybe it'll be more welcoming and post within seconds of hitting enter. I'm glad to see the tie is still moving.

I was beginning to think someone rubbed the TIE with "Skunk Juice" or something as I hadn't touched a fish while it was in my posession. But that all changed yesterday on the NF Nehalem River. With all of the Snow around the new year and the warming trend and rain that followed, most of our rivers have been iffy with off color high water. Then when it dried out a bit, and the rivers dropped into shape, I was sequestered in a hotel in Geprgia and airplanes to and from for most of what should have been the best fishing of the new year. When I went down yesterday, the water was low and clear, which is ok, but there just weren't that many fish around. I fished the morning with no touches, went over to the main Nehalem to meet up with my son and his buddies. That river is much larger, had significant flooding and is still a few days away from reasonable fishing shape. After a few fruitless hours, I decided to head back to the NF for the night bite. It wasn't white hot by any stretch of the imagination, but I did manage a nice buck for my efforts. My jigs haven't been doing the trick yet this year, so I was drift fishing with a rag and sand shrimp tail. I'm having a few issues with pics, so may have to post again. JustDave

This place gets screwy some days. If you upload them to photobucket you can copy and paste the pics into your post. No links or codes needed, just copy and paste the picture. |

The TIE is on it's way to Walleye King #1. I will be traveling this week and needed to get it moving Friday. Mojo is still alive and well as the boys and I landed 6 of the 7 fish we hooked yesterday. Good fishing everyone. JustDave

I'M TRYING ICB, I'M TRYING. NOBODY WANTS TO GO WITH ME IN THIS REAL COLD WEATHER WE ARE HAVING. THEY ARE MORE FAIR WEATHER FISHERMAN LIKE IN DA 30s. I DON'T LIKE GOING OUT BY MYSELF, BECAUSE OF MY BACK AND NECK PROBLEMS.
