As of October 1st it is $29.00 and on January 1st another $10.00 for a recreational marine license. If you fish for marine species such as stripers. In NEW YORK. It will be interesting to see what state charges the least and which the most. Lifemember and Bushwacker SMF upstate NY

Here in WV it is $18.00 for the license, $5.00 for a conservation stamp (required) and $3.00 for the agent fee for a total of $26.00. That is until I turn 65 in three years. Then it is free! Life Member, Retired WV State Police, Retired SFC US Army. Poca, West Virginia |

In Illinois a resident annual is $13.00, plus $6.50 for a Salmon stamp for Lk Mich, plus $6.50 for an inland trout stamp. If you buy online, they charge you a $1.01 convenience fee for a total of $27.01 but word is we are looking at at least a $5.00 increase, possibly more. I should have bought a lifetime license 30 years ago when it was $125.00 or so, but at that time a resident lic. was $2.25! Tom |

Yep, and Game & Fish will check your license for that stamp. Two weeks ago 4 of us were fishing from a pontoon boat. We had @ 12 rods between us, and game & fish scoped us with binoculars and came to check out licenses for two pole stamps. We only had 7 lines in the water and all had the 2 pole stamp, so we were ok. Yeah, it sucks to have to pay extra for two rods. I learned to fish in Florida where multi rods are no problem and ran trot lines as well. No trot lines, or jug fishing in Arizona. Phoenix Arizona ~N.A.F.C.~B.A.S.S.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~

MM: We have a 2 pole and line reg here in IL, but it is site specific and only applies to certain waters, and this is a maximum for those waters only. Other than the bait restrictions, I love the North Dakota regs- basically no length limits, they leave it to the fishermen to release the small and trophy fish. Tom |

On certain waters we have length or slot limits, but generally no particular length limits. If you want to keep a 6" bass, you can. Generally possession limits are ; bass-6, catfish-25, trout-6, striped bass-10, walleye-6, sunfish and all others-no limit. In the few lakes where they exist, northern pike-unlimited, immediate kill or release. They were illegally stocked in Arizona. Phoenix Arizona ~N.A.F.C.~B.A.S.S.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~

It looks like Ill is at the lower end of resident lic. prices. I would not mind a $5 or so hike as long as the money goes to conservation. We had an incident here where the now exgovernor tried to "sweep" (That's Il speak for steal) funds from the wildlife fund and drop it in the general fund. This did not sit well with the locals or the Federal Govt. We now have a conservation oriented Gov. in office, but the budget is such a mess that it will take years to fix. Tom |
