Not only are the lic. fees high here in Pennsylvinia, but they lowered the trout limit from 8 trout over 7 inches to 5 trout like 3 years ago and now there is talk that next year it will be lowered again to 3. Before long you'll be able to just buy a trout dinner at red lobster cheaper then catching your own and they clean and cook it for you. trophy life member |

in arizona the basic license only covers lakes and rivers, there is a seperate license to fish the urban ponds around the state, i purchase the conservation license and the two pole state and that covers anything legal!! also the indian reservation there is a pass to fish on the lakes which is 5 dollars per visit or 100 dollars for a yearly pass. so it cost me 160 dollars just to be legal to fish in arizona |

I travel for work and any way you cut it fishing is the cheapest entertainment I have found. It is also more enjoyable and it last longer than an hour. When I was working in Iowa I paid $9.00 for a 3 day nonresident license, a movie that last 1 1/2 hours was $7.00 to rent. My wife asked me to give up hunting and fishing a few years back because of the cost (I don't spend that much). I told her that would be fine and I would take up drag racing. She thought about it for about 30 seconds and told me I could do all the hunting and fishing I wanted. My brother spent $12,000 dollars that same year on motors for his drag car..... My boat and tackle together are under $1000. Jim

Here in Kansas it's $20.50 for a fishing or hunting seperate, or you can get a combo for $38.50. It costs $12.50 more for trout and $6.50 if you want to use three poles. It's legal to fish with two. No extra charge for trotlines but I hear there is for juglines and only allowed on certain lakes. Seniors fish free. Got 20+ years before that comes about, and who knows what will be going on than. But no matter the cost I'll be out there getting a line wet. A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THAT HAVE AND STILL DO PROTECT OUR FREEDOM AND TO THOSE THAT KEEP US SAFE EVERYDAY. GOD BLESS FROM EVERT IN WICHITA, KS. |

LOOKS TO ME LIKE THE TREND IS IF YOU LIVE IN THE SOUTH, YOU GENERALLY PAY A CHEAPER PRICE. IF YOU GO FURTHER UP NORTH, THE PRICE GENERALLY INCREASES. |

I get an out of state NY fishing license since 2006 and this year it costs me $70...But for me it is worth it! I spend $42 for a Pa license. This year I'll also get an Ohio license (don't know what that will cost yet). LM since 2005 Bushwacker Deputy Sherif

I had reported in '09 on our license fees. Well our state decided we weren't paying enough. Annual with harvest tag is now $59.50 for residents and $132.75 for non-residents. It's about a 25% increase across the board. JustDave

The Illinois amount is misleading. An annual resident lic. is $14.50, plus a $.50 issuing fee. A salmon stamp for the Great Lakes is $6.50, an Inland Trout stamp(non-Lk Mich) is $6.50. If you buy online, they hit you another couple of bucks convenience fee. What is shocking is some of the prices out west. SD-$32 for a 3 day NR! Wyoming is obscene also.
