This part of the lake is easier to fish if you don't have a very large boat. The south side is very wide open water (Miles and miles) while the north near here is all islands anc channels. Just a thought. http://www.kenora.net/portagelodge/ |

I am bringing this to the top so we don't loose track of it! Remember folks, this is for 2009. I know that most of ya don't even plan one day in advance but this is a little different. At the end of 2008 we will need to make our reservations and have determined which (or both) activity we wish to attend. Ray, I am still on for LOTW in September! |

Can anybody throw their hat in the ring for this? My son and I would defintely be interested. I have fished LOTW, but never Rainey. I always did want to try smallies on Rainey. LOTW was an excellent fishery last time I was there, which was about 8 yrs ago now. We fished pretty much exclusively for walleye. We had a tough time finding small enough fish to finish out our limits. The slot limit was in effect and for the last day and a half, we couldn't hardly find a walleye small enough to keep. Nice problem to have!! CaptainMo |
