    Were are there places to fresh water fish in Rhode Island near the providence area???

    Depends on what you are fishing for. For the best bass, you have to go north to sand dam, and wallum. Down in kingston is good at indian. No too much very close to Prov

    Rhode Island is so small everything is close to Providence..In South County area try Indian Lake for largemouth and even some smally's. also Wordens Pond and Tucker Pond. North and west of Providence I like Pascoag Reservoir(echo Lake) , Watermans Reservoir, and Sand Dam.  Believe it or not right in Providence is Roger Williams Park There is really good bass and carp fishing in the park.  A guy my friend works with caught an 8lb Bass there.
