I have two Quantum SS`s,their hardly used and both of them are sloppy.Their bell shaft bearings and reel handle bushings are shot.

So I emailed Zebco and asked if they had a rebuild or replacement parts. They replied: I needed to replace the bells. They absolutly did`nt read my email correctly or didn`t understand the parts I needed.

Quality and service is what we always look for.So next time your looking for a reel or rod , choose wisely and remember this post.

I have been using Quantum products for years.  I have 2 Cabo PTS spinning, 2 Cabo PTS casting, 2 Energy PTS casting, 1 Accurist PTS casting, 3 Tour Edition PT casting.  2 Cabo pts rods.

I have only had a problem with the Accurist.  After about 6 months, the paint/outer 'saltguard' finish started to peel off.  I contacted customer service and was sent a brand new one.  Granted, I had to pay shipping to send it in, but a new one was sent out no questions asked.   I would recommend any of these, as they are used in saltwater(except the Tour Editons) and with a little basic cleaning, they're perfect.

The SS`s I have were kept cleaned and lubed as all my other reels.Because of their age and they`ve been discontinued and out of warrinty could be the reason. They have been in storage for 7 years. They easily could be fixed with a spool shaft bearing .
I`ve had no other problems with the other Zebco`s I have, but, both of the SS`s I have, have the same problems.

I've had two SnapShot reels where the trigger mechanism has fallen apart. I like the triggers on the reels, but I have switched to Shimano. They are a bit more expensive, but feel they are better quality.
