ANYBODY KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT A OKUMA SIMERAS SIS-30 10 BB BLACK AND GOLD REEL COMBO? I BOUGHT IT FROM SPORTS AUTHORITY, PRICE TAG SAID $99 AND WAS MARKED DOWN TO $ 30, GOOD DEAL OR NOT? IS THIS A QUALITY REEL AND ROD AND IS IT FRESH WATER OR SALT WATER, CANT SEEM TO FIND ANY INFO ON IT???

I would like more info about Okuma reels. I have a convector CV20L casting reel and it has given me a lot of trouble.

How has that combo treated you meanfishing? Was it worth the money?

DON"T USE IT IN SALT WATER, Okumas are good reels but they will corrode quickly in salt water . I used one for a year here in Fl. and it looked like it was 100 yrs old after 1 year in the salt , even in fresh water keep it clean and lubed well. I use only Quantum and Shimano now , but that is a preference . tom
