Not really a trade a trip or find a partner post, but it is an opportunity to help get some guys on the water who really deserve a day to relax.

Officer Whitaker of Arizona Game and Fish has taken on a personal project to have a "Take a Vet Fishing Day" in october hear near Yuma, Az.

It has the support of the department, but it is Officer Whitaker's personal project. He has the support of many members of Yuma Bassmasters, and he has been talking with The Yuma Rod & Gun Club as well as the local regional directors of WON Bass and American Bass.

Basically they would like to get every boater they can who has a suitable boat. (not just bassers) Deck boats, pontoons, or anything big enough to fish a passenger or two is encouraged to help out. I will be there with both of my boats as long as it doesn't conflict with one of my tournaments, and since he is coordinating with all the local clubs that should not be an issue.

This is for active duty and recent returns from hot zones. Guys that have been serving thier country and haven't had a chance to go fishing in a while.

Mr Whitaker suspects he will have a lot more marines and soldiers who want to go fishing than we will have boats.

I will post updates for this topic on my website as I get them. Mr Whitaker has stated that he would like to attend all of the Yuma Bassmasters meetings between now and then to keep us up to date.
