Welcome AZAllen...  Glad to know that I'm not the only one here!  I'm out here in Chandler.  Fishing out this way has just started picking up after all the rain we've been getting, especially at Bartlett and Roosevelt.  How are things out your way?

Hi,I don't post, but I'm out here.Spent the last five months doing extensive boat repair, and am just about ready to "wet" the boat.Last time I was fishing (in September) I caught a 25 pound flathead cat at Lake Pleasant Last year there were postings about Arizona members trying to organize a meeting, and maybe do some fishing together. I'd still like to see that happen.what do ya'll say?I'm outta here for now. Mister Mystery 2-23-08

Welcome Mister Mystery...  Good to hear that you've gotten those boat repairs done and are ready to get the boat wet.  Should be great weather for us valley fisherman in the upcoming week.  It'd be nice to have a meeting or a fishing outing, anything to get me out of the house that isn't work.  I know that there is more of us Arizonans out here...  We just need them to be active on the forums in order to organize anything.

Hi Fact135, Not quite done with the boat yet, couple more weeks. Had to cut out the deck, and replace the stringers (used fiberglass impregnated red oak to replace pine), plywood deck (old deck was 1/2", used 3/4"), refiberglassed deck, installed new carpet, and am now waiting for new seats and pedistals from Cabela's. Boat is a 1977 Glastron Sportster,16', 1967 Evinrude 80 hp motor. Looking foreward to "wetting" it, and catching fish.   Later.        Mister Mystery

    Hello fact135,

My wife and I are here in Az on a winter vacation from Mi. I love to trout fish and will fish bass from my neighbor’s pond when home.

I brought a few rods with me but have enjoyed this sunny and warm weather so much I haven't even thought of fishing. Heck even all the rain you have had has been nice.  We don't have to shovel it..

We were here at Lake Pleasant for a week or so and then went to Lake Havasu City for a week or so and while there camped on the Colorado River and watched the fisherman in the boats.

We are back at Lake Pleasant for another week but like I said have not been on the water.

I make a weighted trout streamer that I use in Mi waters but not to sure if it's even legal here in Az. You can see it on my sleeping web site. http://www.quali-tied.com I had to put a hold on it while away.

Anyway we're here and we do enjoy the area. This Lake pleasant is just beautiful.

By the way I have been a Life Member since July,2000 and this is the 3rd time posting on the new NAFC site.

I lay awake last night wondering where the sun had gone, then it dawned on me

deadlystreamer...  Glad you're enjoying our weather so much.  Too bad you didn't take advantage of the great fishing we have here.  I'm sure you had a great trip out here though...  It's a great place to relax.  I wish you a safe return to MI and hope you'll come back to get your line wet some time!

    hey Fact135,

Well, I'm still waiting for the seats and pedistals from Cabela's, but everything else is done. I'm  planning a fishing excursion with two other boat owner friends for a six man trip April 5th (two men per boat). Since Bartlett Lake is 100% full,  that's the destination. None of us have ever been there. Going to leave pre-dawn, launch at first light, and stay over night, recovering boats in the morning of the 6th. i can't wait to get on the water and catch some fish. By the way, I thank God my Grandmother taught me to fish!Keep in touch man.

Hi everyone...Mister Mystery, the Glastron project sounds pretty neat to me, you will probobly get some nice comments on it.  You may have some problems with the old motor, some will say it is a gross polluter.--Deadlystreamer, your lures would have been fine everywhere,'bout the only things that aren't legal somewhere are trotlines and dupont spinners.----ventre, where in NW AZ are you?  To me that means Mohave county.  As for trout, most of the "funnest" fishing is in Apacheland but there is pretty good fishing in other places. Catfish, well low & slow.  Try Topock Marsh or head down towards Yuma.  Some very big ones down that way.  Some other areas have good populations also.----Say deadlystreamer, where in MI, I was born in Frankfort.---All for now

Glad to see everyone's getting ready for a new fishing  year.  I've got the itch so bad I could thread a sewing machine running wide-open!!  I'm a native Arizonan and live in Kingman.  I mostly fish Lake Mead.  The main species is striped bass, but there's also largemouth and recently, I've picked up a couple of smallies!  Anyway, I'm new to this forum and look forward to exchanging ideas with everyone.  Good luck!!

Mister Mystery... Sounds like a fun trip.  Bartlett is one of my favorite lakes.  I'm out there at least 3 or 4 times a month.  It's the hotspot right now.  I'm actually heading over there this tuesday.  I'll keep you posted on how well we do.

Thank God my father taught me to fish!!!

Welcome aboard wyattcorn!  Glad to have ya here.  Lake Mead is a great lake to live near.  I love catching smallies.  Ever since Apache slowed down from the algae the closest spot for me to get quality bronzebacks is Roosevelt...  Which is a bit of a drive from chandler.  Especially at $3.05 a gallon.  Keep us posted on how they're biting up there.
