Bartlett is blowing up right now.  My buddy and I got on the water around 11:30am and fished untill sunset.  Main lake temps were around 58 - 59 degrees, but we found water in the backs of most coves that was around 65 - 66 degrees.

The bass are real active.  Shad were all over the place in the coves with a decent creek channel.  We were fishing crankbaits and rattletraps in both shad and craw patterns.  We found fish as shallow as 3' but most were 6' - 12'.  We ended up with 23 and lost another 7 or 8 next to the boat.... It's a small boat and we were trying to video tape which made it hard to lip em before they'd jump and spit it out.   Biggest was just over 3 lbs, with most being in that 1 - 2 lb range.

We talked to a few guys that were having good luck with the crappie too.  They had a cooler full with a couple nice slabs that were around 15" - 16".

This is just the forefront of what will prove to be one of the best years at Bartlett in some time.

Thank God my father taught me to fish!!!

MisterMystery...  Glad you got the boat done.  Just in time too, now that the lakes are turning on with this warm weather and all.  Thanks for the invite!  I may meet you guys up there...  Just have to see what's going on that weekend.  I don't have too many people to fish with so it would be nice to meet up with some folks that enjoy it as much as I do.   It sounds like it will be fun too.  I'll let you know as the date get's closer.  I should be heading out there again this friday.  I'll keep you posted on how I do if I end up going.  Just depends if my buddy can get the day free or not.

MisterMystery... Sorry that I have been mia the past 2 weeks.  Things have been real hectic for me.  I probably won't be able to make ot out to meet up with you guys this weekend.  Unfortunately I was in minor accident with my vehicle and I have nothing to pull my boat with.  This happened on friday and I just dropped it off  as progressive to get fixed monday.  They said it might take a week.  Hopefully not, but it's not looking good right now.  If anything changes I'll be sure to let you know.

On another note, I have fished Bartlett 3 times since my last post.  It is on fire.  It just keeps getting better each day I've been out.  I've been getting the majority of my fish on Rapala DT6 in the silver (shad) pattern and the dark crawdad.  I have also had great luck with Rattle trap type baits.  I personally have been using Sebile Flat Shads and Lucky Craft LVRs, but my buddy has been using good old fasion Rattle Traps and doing just fine...  Both in a shad or craw pattern.  I threw a few spinnerbaits as well and got a few.  Fish in the coves with a decent creek channel running through and you'll certainly find fish.

As I mentioned above, if my vehicle gets finished in time I will be out there, untill then I'm stuck with this silly rental with no trailer hitch.

If I don't make I wish you the best of luck and a happy b-day!!!

Hey Fact135, sorry to hear about your truck. At least nobody was hurt. At this point I don't think the other boat will be going either. Mike hasn't had it in the water for at least 2 years, it needs a carburator, and he still hasn't installed it yet. It is an inboard/outboard,so who knows what else it might need as well. Looks like it will be just my regular partner and me.   : (     Oh well, we'll still have a good time. thanks for the b-day wish. today is the day. I'm going to try some Storm Wild Eye Swim Shad soft lures as well as your recomendations. I'v heard they are catching everything imaginable. I'll let you know how we do. Still hope to see you there.Later.
