I never had much success in the lakes around Woodland Park but always enjoyed having fun getting out. good luck with getting a group together. We had our first "meet" in May of this year here in OH and we had 50 some people! |

Fishnhunt, I am glad to see that your Hospital stay is over and you are back among the walking! I do hope everything is alright and you will soon again be out tromping them tar hills! I loved watching the buffalos whomp them Nebraska Cornhuskers yesterday! Now if they can win one more game thier season will be a good one. Everything is doing pretty good here in OH although there doesn't seem to be much action over on our states section?????? I hope that improves. Take care and tight lines to ya! Don't catch all those trout out of the river up there near Woodland Park Co that's where I used to fish! http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x122/Basserwannabe/lifememberkx3.png |

Hi Basser-- Thanks for the well wishes. I'm doing fairly well and doing rehab three times a week to get the ol' bod back into Mt. trompin shape. Gonna take time, but i'll get 'er done for sure. Yeppers that was a terrific game, and I enjoyed every minute. I think the HUskers were shell shocked when it was over!! I think the reason you are not seeing a lot of postings in several areas is that many members are holding back with thi new system. I think it will get better with time. I am having problems navigating in here and posting myself. I'll leave ya a few of dem dar trout so that next time your out this way maybe we can hook up and catch us a few..Take care and be safe.and remember---- Keep your hooks sharp, fish hard, and fish as long as you can and hunt the rest of the time !! |

I look forward to the time when we can share a fishing hole together. I don't get to travel to much (wife's health is bad) but iffen I do I will be sure to look you up. I used to love to fish the beaver dams up on the conentinetal divide It was a drive for us even when we lived in Denver. Is the South Platte still a trophy trout water? http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x122/Basserwannabe/lifememberkx3.png |

Well, I may live in MI now, but when I get back to denver we'll have to fish. I couldn't possibly live here forever. My wife loves it but it is killin' me! We already agreed to move back out that way within 5 years. |

FishNHunt, I haven't been very active in the forum, but am looking to start corresponding. I live in Aurora, and usually do a lot of fishing at Aurora Reservoir and some at Quincy, Reservoir and other places around the state just depending on what I'm fishing for. I'm up for doing more fishing this year.
Best Regards |

Get a bunch of anchovies and start a striper feeding frenzy off the back of houseboat.
Never had much luck trolling. mostly smallmouth from the shore. soft baits work good for them.
Worms at night brings in a variety- carp, walleye, freak lake powell suckers.
Good spots are cottonwood canyon, escalante, and by the rincon. The fishin map helps too.
Good luck! As my good buddy Bill once said, "Bluegrass always gets em biting" R.I.P |

Well I noticed the last post here was in January, so I hope that months later there will still be some fellow anglers around to read and respond. I live in the Grand Junction and I love it. There are so many great Gold Medal fisheries that are quickly reached. Most of my fishing is done on rivers and streams with both a fly and spinning rod. Although it is probably the furthest away for my, my favorite place to go catching is the Frying Pan River above Basalt. For those of you who have fished there, you know what I'm talking about. I have recently run into a little snag so to speak with my fishing. I have developed an overwhelming urge to fish for giant carp with my fly pole. I catch a lot of flak when I share this with most people. But hold on here friends, when you think about it, what is the difference between carp and the ever popular bonefish. Far as I can tell, it is just the warm weather on the beach. Well sort of. If any of you share my interest to chase these trash fish, or could even point me in the right direction to go catching near Grand Junction, I would appreciate it very much |
