Hey i'm JP i've living in colorado for about 10 years now. I live in Durango, never really got into baitfishing or spincasting, it's all about Fly fishing. Hey patrick where have you fished, what river and what were you using? |

Hey JP, I have fished the Animas River the most. I was using a red devil. This time of year with the water being dirty from all the snow melt I am waiting for it to clear up. I have tried just about everything on Valliceto Lake but I haven't caught anything there. Since you like fly fishing you might try there, I have heard about a guy who caught an almost 8 ft pike on a fly rod. As soon as I can get my boat up and going (engine problems) I plan on going out on the lake. On of my friends said you have to go out there to get the fish to bite and that they never bite from the bank. I haven't gone out to Haviland lake to fish there yet but when I have just been there, there are always people with stringers of Trout. I have also been wanting to try Pastoria Lake, just south of town, or Lemon Reservoir yet. I checked online and Pastoria, Vallecito, and Lemon are supposed to have bass but Pastoria is small enough you could fish it with just a trolling motor. I have also done some snagging down on the Navajo Lake. If you ever get a chance that is a great way to fill your freezer with salmon. |

I just moved from the DC area to Golden, CO and was looking for some good, close spots to go either fly fishing or bass/walleye/pan fishing (from shore, no boat). Just started fly fishing so am new to all of this so if anyone was interested in getting together to do some fishing, that'd be great too! Thanks in advance. I've been in Colorado since July 2004. Caught some trout, but really miss the catfishin and bass fishin. |

I have lived in Evergreen Co. Fished for trout for many years at Grandby, Spinny and Eleven Mile but got hooked on warm water fishing the past couple of years. Welcome aboard Smytyk & evergreencharley, Hopefully things will start picking up here on the bulletinboards soon and you guys will be able to get a fishing meet set up. I moved from St Louis to Denver in 1994 and basically gave up fishing because I thought fly fishing was all that happened in CO. I didn't want to learn a whole new technique and invest a bunch of money in different equipment. A couple of years ago my college age son got back into bass fishing around the Longmont/Fort Collins area and I was hooked again. I recently moved to Pueblo and am trying to learn how to fish for walleye without a boat. I have been fishing Valco Ponds with very little success. I understand there is bass in Lake Pueblo, but I'm not sure how you fish that place without a boat. I have really been striking out and I'm looking for someone who knows the area who could give me some current info and some serious help with the "no catch" situation. DAinP'lo |

Yep, I made it. I live in Longmont. Like to fish for trout and bass mostly. Shore, Stream, Boat, Inflatable, any kind works for me. Mostly spin fish more than fly. Favorites to boat are Carter Lake, Boyd Lake, 11 Mile, Blue Mesa. Favorites all around are Delany Buttes, Deep Creek Lakes, Michigan Res. Local longmont bass holes (Golden Ponds, Macintosh, Lagerman.) If you are up north, look me up! Thanks, Ted |

Hello all. I have lived and fished in Colorado going on 9 years now. Am currently living on the Western Slope but am moving back to Colorado Springs in a few weeks. When I am not fly-fishing in the rivers out here I am Kayak Fishing for Pike and Salmon on the larger bodies of water in the central part of the state. |

Hi to all; just found the site but have been a member for awhile. Live in Centennial and fish mostly at Aurora Res. or Quincy Res. because it is near the home. Have fished other spots in Colorado when time and finances permit. Fish tournament May 16 at Aurora Res. Crazy but fun.
