Josh, I'm glad to hear you're doing better. I hear you. I'm looking forward to a lot of good fishing this spring. Are you going to the sportsman's expo? If so, what day are you going? Jason |

Josh, I'm not sure what time I'll be heading down there yet. I'm trying to coordinate with a taxidermist friend of mine taking the light rail since he lives close by. I'll keep you posted. Jason

Josh, It sounds like Christmas worked out well for you. The expo wasn't bad. It really hasn't changed much since the last time I went down there, except all of the big game hunting trips to Canada seem to be about twice as as expensive. I got to renew my NRA membership. I learned a new way to try fishing Tazmanian Devil lures which is good since I have a nearly a full tackle box of them. And I got a new T-Shirt that says PETA - People Eating Tasty Animals and on the back it says "All God's critters look best next to the mashed potatoes and gravy". I'm tempted to walk around Boulder with it on and see how many people I offend. Take care, I hope the fishing finds you well. Jason |

Jason,WOW! that is an amasing shirt. i hate all of those animal rights activists. i took a referee class tonight for lacrosse so hopefullly i can get some money for next fishing season. but i will probably burn most of it because im a fishing gear addict. im tryin to break that habit.Josh |

Josh, I can't say I hate them, but I hate it when they impose their misguided belief system on me and my rights as a gun owner and hunter. I could never see myself living the vegetarian lifestyle. I'll take some good venison steaks, fresh walleye or elk burgers any day. I hear you on the fishing tackle. I've been good lately. I'm trying to keep my eyes open for a boat on craigslist I like...which means I have to be real limited on what I spend my money on right now. Take care, Jason

Jason, that is pretty cool how youre getting a boat. what kind do you plan on getting? my friends family is buying a new bass boat and they are looking up in the 25k range. so that is pretty cool that ill be able to fish off of that. good luck with the boat, Josh |

Josh, I'm trying to keep it in the $2000 range. I want to teach my wife how to water ski, so I'm looking for something that can at least get up to 40 mph on the lake and yet still have enough room to fish off of. Unfortunately my coleman crawdad only has enough room me and one other person and wasn't built for high speeds or big motors. I'm in a waiting patern at the moment though. I had to take my ford Exploder to the shop for coolant leak. I'm afraid it's probably the water pump. As soon as I find out how much that will cost me I can start setting up times to go look at some of the boats I've seen on craigslist. Jason

Josh, I got my exploder back from the shop Monday. I lucked out that it wasn't the water pump. I had two leaks 1 because of a warped thermostat housing and the other was a leak in the valve near the heater core, so I escaped only having to pay $500. That sounds like a lot, but I have no doubt a water pump would have cost me a lot more. I would say stay away for the 1999 to 2002 ford exploder. The transmissions are lousy. I've had to have mine replaced twice. I was only lucky that I had an extended warranty on it when I did. It might cost you more, but you might look at Toyota. If you can finance something new all the better. Consumer Reports gave the Tundra and the Tacoma awesome ratings across the board. If you know your Dad took good care of the Jeep, then I would consider the Jeep. I also don't recommend buying used 4x4's from dealerships unless they can provide you a carfax report. I don't know how common it is, but places like Budget rent-a-car will sell their used rental vehicles and I know for a fact when people rent 4X4's they put some serious abuse on them. Stay away from rentals if you can help it. If you can get something new then I really recommend looking at consumers report vehicle guide. You might even be able to access it on line for a fee. Good Luck, Jason

Hey Josh, How's fishing been? The couple of weeks have been extremely busy at work, so I haven't done much myself. I probably should start a new topic on the forum since this one doesn't talk about the bass fishing much anymore. What do you think? Have you noticed there isn't a lot of activity on the colorado forum? I'm also a life member of the North American Hunting Club and there seems to be a lot more topics being discussed and participation on that site. I've been trying to stay active on this site in hopes that encourages more discussion. Anyway, I hope all is well, Jason
