I may have missed any previous post but was just wondering if anyone has ever had a chance to get down to South Florida and try their luck with Peacock Bass? If you haven't and thought about it, go for it, you won't be disappointed. The strikes are brutal (imagine someone throwing a cinder block at your bait)and the fights are a blast. Live baits, surface lures, fly rods are all great ways to fish for them. when they start chasing a lure you half expect to hear the theme music from JAWS start in the backround. There was a great show last year where 4 pros went down to South America to fish for them (much bigger fish down there)and they came back excited like little kids after a day chasing these bad boys. You don't need a guide to find them but with the right one, you'll have a day you'll never forget. If anyone ever gets the time and money and wants the information on the guide I used, just let me know. Best money I've eveer spent on a fishing trip!
