Hey DK,
As I've said in the past , I have organized two and a half meets .
the half one was mostly on my end , did not get any response for it so I gave up on it
I like the idea of doing one at Kissimmee lake.
As far as organizing it , you have to post a time and date, give a deadline to respond and register so you can have a number of committed members and then contact the site of choice and reserve enough space, and figure out the cost factor of the sites involved to hold the meet.
You need to determine if it's going to be rustic camping or RV style or both and post that, with the amount $s needed to reserve the site , including any ramp fees ( cost per person ) have them send you a check or money order to put up the deposit, and committ. Sometimes the site owners will offer a discount if you mention that it is a club.
Thern you need to come up with a game plan of events ( member tourney, etc. ) maybe t -shirts if everyone is interested enough to share the cost.
There is a lot of leg work on the person doing the organizing, if it pans out then it's great , if not then it was a good effort.
I've done two meet & greets, and a hat and patch group buy, and both were a lot of foot work on me.
Well good luck with your efforts, and count me in on the meet if you get it up and running.
