I am looking for people who fish CJ and trying to get a fishing tourney. Want to make things a bit more exciting. If you have any questions, tips, or even want to help get this going please let me know.

Went to CJ on 22 feb and no luck. Used worms (live bait), crank bait, and some gulp minnows. Not a single bite. Group next to me used power bait puddie (green/yellow) and landed two decent size trout.

CJ is a nice spot to fish but recently i heard there are other places with more fish. crane falls is a good place and the sand dunes park is good for bass. havent been to them yet. also heard that a boat is very helpfull. im screwed on that part. has anyone fished the reservoir up the road from walmart?

The reservoir up the road from walmart is really hard to shore fish. All the fish are in the middle. No joke. Nothing too exciting even if you have a boat. I usually fish the snake river off the town of Grand view. My mother has caught nice fish there. Trout and bass. She even got her 4 lbs small mouth there. Crane falls is fun but the rules are really strick. You have to release unless its a trophy size. You know what, I am goin to go try it out. I'll let you know the outcome later.

Attached are the some of the fish my mother and I have caught of the snake river, right in the entrance to Grand view.

SCORE.... good advise. I went down to Crane falls and trout are bitting. Even perch were joining the fun. Two nice size perch and a trout on my part. People next to me caught 8 trout.  Use bright green/yellows mellows (garlic) and worms. I tried plastics but no bites. Use yellow puddy and worms mix too.

    post pics tomorrow.

We where thinking about trying a campspot above the Idaho Power dam but the winds where too strong (whats new). We ended up trying cottonwood campground right next to the WMA gate. Tried liver catfish powerbait no hits, spinners, jigs even flys no hits at all. Gonna either try crane falls or below the dam tomorow morning depends on the wind.

Found a new hole up on the top. Didnt really get to fish it. Funny story: So I was using my new Rapala lure Clakin' Rap in this new hole that my wife and I found. Lots of bites but nothing latch (hooks too big?) anyways soo my wife tells me she needs to go to the restroom. Mind you she's pregnant. So I tell her one final cast. As I cast out the wind picks up and sends my lure off some tress. I played with it for a min or two and asked my wife to come help me. I climb a tree not knowing its full of thorns. After the 5 new holes and few scratches to my body, I climb down and grab my fishing rod from her. I yank and pull and then I hear it. The worst sound a angler could ever hear. "SNAP" Oh man my jaw drops. I used a great knot that Knott Wars thought me and I was using 12 lbs floro soo I know it had to have had it stuck. I turn to tell my wife but shes already laughing. As cold as it is, knowing im in a tight budget and I already had agreed that all I bought in Cabelas on saturday was it for this season, I began to get undressed. I was determined to get my new lure. I strip down and began my little journey into the water. It was 35 degress but felt liek 28 deg. I thought the water was only a few feet deep man was I wrong it was more then 4 feet deep. Soo here I am in this cold water swimming for my lure. I break off the branch and retrieve my lure. I walk out and my wife wraps me with a blanket. All I gatta say is "Love my RAPALA" hahaha.

Went to the new hole i found, yesterday. Nothing was biting. The temp needs to get warmer for sure. Great spot for bass when it gets warmer.

went to strike today and got a little bass and 3 trout. they werent very big though. i was using this squared jig head with a 2 inch plastic. they look like small fish. i was retreiveing fast but then realized fish wont usually hit when its cold out. then i put it on the bottom and worked it in. i was moving faster when i got the trout and wasnt doing a whole lot when i felt the bass. ill catch him again soon. he had a gut on him. i dont know why the trout hit though. do they usually go for other fish look alikes?

Im glad someone did better then me. Were you in the bottom? Trout usually like to hit on shinners and minnows. I had great hits on trout using crappie and other fish. They also love garlic.I am goin for catfish tomorrow. I'll let you know.
