The DNR has closed out perching for the month of July. Last weekend I witnessed a couple of boats bringing in their limit. 15 per person. Only to dump off and head back out again. Looking at their catch I noticed most were big females. Loaded with eggs. Some just spilling. If the DNR is so bent on maintaining the population why not split the month of June in half as well as July.
The fish are in a prespawn feeding frenzie then to spawn in early July. This would really help the population grow.
Any body with additional info on this could help me write a formal letter to the DNR..
