Heya's, I'm new to the site also rejoined NAFC after letting account go for 10yrs or so. The name is Mike, I live in Pana, IL. originally from East Tennessee. Moved out here in 1994 after I retiered from the U.S Navy. Do most of my fishing in and around the local lakes and rivers here. I really miss Trout fishing from being stationed up in the NE. Is there any spots here in IL that harbor them? |

Welcome. Chris! Tom here from Cary. Drop me a PM sometime, I'm not an ice fisher, but perhaps we can get together for some fishing in the spring, and I can hook you up with a few other members that don't hit the site often but fish religiously. Fishin' fool in NE Illinois |

Well I am from central IL, Peoria to be exact. I am hoping to explore some new fishing holes, and camping grounds come spring. It's been short fishing times the past couple years due to vehicle issues, or lack of money to go have a good weekend trip.

When all else fails, at least you can still bait the line and go fishing.

Hello from Southern Illinois.... one of my favorite haunts is a hidden spot on Rend Lake but it seems the water has to be flowing just right and the water needs to be about 75-80 degrees to get good hits.. Also like to hit the local reservoir that is not used anymore, seems like there the cats are on a time clock and only hit about 3:30 pm and 6:30 pm... seems strange to me any one know why this may be?

Scott from Pontiac here, I fish Evergreen Lake, Bloomington Lake, Dawson, The Illinois up by Ottawa, but The Vermillion is where I call home. I am a shore fisherman and Love the smallies and Cats, and enjoy the one or two week’s midsummer when we get the white bass that run through. |

Thought I check in. I am from Lincoln IL. Been a Life member since 1999. I do most of my fishing at clinton lake. Sometimes I will go down to Sancris or over to Dawson Lake.

Hey guys, I haven't checked in this site for a while. I mostly fish Lake Carlton in Morrison-Rockwood State Park(Nice campgrounds) . Been unemployed for over a year now so I stay local. The lake is only 3 miles from my home. I could go to the Miss. River, but I don't like to fish current. I'd rather fish in a lake. I recently picked up a used canoe and am looking for new places to use it that isn't too far to drive. See you on the water.

I primarily fish for walleyes on Pools 13 to 18 and the Illinois River. I also guide on these waters. I've been a licensed captain for over 30 years. Before moving to the midwest I ran inshore and offshore charters. There's nothing like a fish tugging on the end of your line weather it be a gill of a 700 pound tuna. I just love to fish. |
