Here's some pic and info on Mazonia.
An Angler that I met through another site ( Chi-town Angler.com ) Nicknamed AnyLuc was nice enought to take me out for the day and show me around Mazonia. For those of you not familiar with it, it's just South & West of Braidwood Il.

It is a state holding and consists of many beautiful Strip mine lakes. You can fish any lake there. some are accessable by boat. They do have launches. Some are paved, others are gravel.
Most are electric only but three larger ones are gas motor at no wake speed.

Shore line ledges humps and old roadbeds are the key to finding fish although you may well find some " suspenders " with your finder.

We caught some nice Bass, A couple Crappie and about a dozen "Keeper Gills" Long about 3 PM the Net started to saggin' under the heat so we wrapped it up by just driving over to the other two larger lakes for a look see.
This place is a definate fish magnet.
Lot's of folks just fishing from the shore too.
Don't confuse Mazonia with the big Braidwood cooling lake. It's very near by and accessable.
