Went out for the first fishing trip of the year yesterday. Took a charter out of East Chicago, Indiana marina. between the 4 of us we managed to catch 6 COHO at about 2 pounds each and 1 Brown Trout that went 16 pounds. That brown had such a big hook on its lower lip it could have locked its jaw.

Its sure sad when someone from NY is the only one posting in the Illinois thread. It seems just yesterday there were more boyz from Illinoiz then from any other state. Great weather we are having. Makes you forget that we aren't even to the middle of February yet.

 

I want to go fishing but I'm too tired to break a hole in the ice to put the boat in.

Don't have to break ice below the dams on the Rock River. Just have to watch out for ice flows.lol

I have been very busy with family & being an iCE HOLE.I have conducted undetcted raid into bushwhacker territory and have abscondid with numerous tasty morsels that please the palate and Da. Mrs.

I fished more in 2008 than I have at anytime in my life.

Hey John,

How's the ice fishing? I've been out at least once a week this winter. The local lake isn't getting too many big fish. And now the private pond has opened up to where I cannot get on it. I was geting some ok crappies there. I haven't travelled too far from home since I got laid off 3 weeks ago. Been trying to find work. I've been fishing Mondays and Fridays so I can leave my weekends open for family time. If you want to travel out my way, let me know and we can fish together.

Us Illinoiz Boys need to fish together someday. Last meet I went to was Clinton Lake in 2007. That was a nice day. Being laid-off like I am, I don't travel too far(at all!!). Would like to fish Mississippi River with someone who know how and where to catch Walleye. Teach me, Obi-Wan, Teach Me!!
