I was down at Twin Brach dam in Mishawaka last night standing in the pouring rain and 30 mph gusts. But it was worth it. One nice steelhead and a dink walleye in less than 2 hrs. The DNR hasn't posted a report and I haven't seen anything on the local BBs so I don't think most people know they're in yet. I haven't seen a soul out there. So beat the crowds and come on up.
Spawn, waxworms, and crawlers work well drifted or plunked. I prefer a black feather jig cause it'll take steelies or walleye. Inline spinners are always good too, the local favorite is the Oslo. If fly fishing is your thing try black buggers, zonkers, or leech patterns at Zappia park. Anyone need info or directions gimme a holler and I'll help as best I can. Dick Parker at Central park baits is real helpful too and has all the bait and tackle you'll need. He also does charters if that's what you're into. See ya on the river.
