DAMN IT'S COLD!!!  Has anyone managed to go fishing, or even survived the Holidays? That's the trouble with Kansas not colld enough to icefish, but to cold to do otherwise. Not so bad without the wind I guess, but when is that? I haven't manged to catch anything latley, but havn't had much chance to try. Have fun, happy New Year. GL

No fishing so far but I manage to squeeze in a motorcycle ride once in a while.  I still haven't purchased my new combo fishing/hunting license yet but I'll take care of that next weekend.  If the weather holds my boy and I will go after some trout in the Kanopolis seep ponds below the dam.    It's real pretty over there.

    HI, ALL,

I'm jealous, I lived in Salina in the '70s and fished at Kanopolis a lot, especially white bass. Great place, and it is very pretty. Drove back to Salina in a thunderstorm in a '53 Chevy with vacuum wipers one time at night. Good memories.    GL

I forgot to pick up my license so we didn't go fishing.  I took off on a bike ride to Paola near KC to touch base with my son.  At about 35 degrees, the almost four hundred mile motorcycle trip was rather brisk. Over Christmas his Four Runner broke down in our driveway  so we loaned him and his wife our 2003 Dodge Intrepid until the truck could be repaired.  Our kids live in Lenexa but Chase works for a Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep dealership in Paola.

A couple of week ago a fellow t-boned our car in KC.  Chase is okay but our Dodge took a pretty good hit.  It's not totaled but the repairs will be about 4,000 bucks.  The fellow that hit him got a ticket and does have insurance.  A couple of Chase's buddies that happen to work for a big Chrysler-Dodge operation in KC are overseeing the repairs through their dealership.

I'm off this weekend so hopefully I'll get to WalMart Sunday afternoon. to pick up a 2008  license.  I've never gone this far into a new year without a license before.  I just seem to be moving rather slowly but I will soon catch fire.

    Later---------------JCT
