Are there not very many members from the Wichita area or are you guys just not posting? I'm always looking for guys to split the cost of a local trip. Bass crappie or walleye are my main interests.

the funniest thing I've observed about this club is not many get onto the BB, yet our BB has a huge population even after the club tried to kill it.  So you won't see many posts initially, but as you meet people on the water or over the BB suddenly there become a lot more.  Be patient and you'll see responses.

    Fellow Kansans,

Maybe we should try to get together somewhere face to face and plan a trip together.    I live in Russell and would be willing to drive to Wichita since that seems like a central place.    Maybe a one day event....a meal, some fishing somewhere close and easy and get to know one another.    Think about it....Let's make it happen.

That sounds like a great idea! JCT lives in Macpherson so he would be close too. I,m not sure how to coordinate this but we should certainly try.

I could pick him up on way to Wichita!     Wonder how many of us are retired?  If we are all retired, we could meet about anytime.    Pick a date, and a place and let's see how many can come.....If it's just four or five, it would be  a start..

this is a tough one lots of driving in the ratio to fishing, but Marion or El Dorado may be ok.

In the post "Location... Where's everyone from" there seems to be a desire to create a KS meet.  I added a post today that if we want a date, we should probably be far enough out that people can plan, so I voted for May 30th and/or 31st.  It looks like Marion Res is a likely location.  What we need is someone to organize it.  Whoever does that needs to post in the KS section about a meet and in the members' meet section also.  Who wants to organize this?

I could make that date work. If someone has the time to organize it. If we are talking about a small fishing get together, my boat is great on community lakes but to small for big lakes. Hopefully we could do a partner type fun tournament if enough guys have full size boats.

The date is fine, but I don't have a boat. I do have a 4 man tent, if we need that. I also have a 12/120 volt air compressor.

I have a little boat that works well for 2 and can work for 3, we just can't bring a lot of gear.  If the water gets rough 3 make it difficult, but we just wouldn't go out in it.  Let's see if a leader emerges.

Got your message Joe and I'll do my best to get to this one.  It's an easy drive from my home in McPherson.  I work every other weekend but I've only used three and a half vacation days so far.  I still have a few weeks left.

    This sounds like fun.------------JCT

    Green Lantern,

Good to talk to you by phone this afternoon(Friday).    As we talked, if we can't get together to fish, at least have a meal somewhere and make plans for the future. If nothing else eat, visit Gander Mountain and Sportsman Warehouse.   Looks like there is about 5 or 6 of us.....KC and Sedan are a far piece to travel from for a short event and we understand that....Think Krush's idea of the private pond is workable if we can get permission....leave boats home this first time.   I haven't fished Marion so don't know my way around there either.   Have fished Melvern and Coffey County(Wolfcreek)  south of Topeka along 75.    Don't know how far that is from Sedan....Would be a couple of hours from KC.    Have also fished Council Grove and Milford.    Know you have already talked to Krush by phone and know JCT.....That leaves Rodrigo and jtgifted and it is a long trip for them....jtgifted has already said he may have to pass.....jtgifted and rodrigo, when we get together we will plan something your way.   Let green lantern know what you have available and what you would suggest in way of trip...i.e.   length of stay, facilities, size of impondment, species, what time of year what you would suggest for meals,  motels nearby, etc.     When the time is right, I could plan a wonderful trip to Wilson for walleye fishing and include a backyard BBQ for everyone at my residence.   Doesn't sound like much now, just figuring out how to start, but it's a beginning!!!!   Thanks for posting your name and number....My name is Gordon Gorton......ggkansas@yahoo.com.....785-483-2555....Russell, Ks.   Would suggest everyone else do the same so we can start corresponding.    Have a great weekend.

    Gordon

Ouch------I just checked the work schedule.  Although I'm scheduled to work that weekend (I work every other weekend) and have plenty of vacation time left, one of my key people has already penciled in vacation for that weekend.  This might turn out to be a bust for me.  RATS!!!!!

We could switch it to May 16, 17, and 18. Show up Fri evening or Sat morning and leave Sun morning or Sat night. That is the only other weekend I can do it. Let me know if this works for everyone ASAP so I can change date with land owner.

Well, I'm way far from retiring... being 27 haha.  I have a nitro bass boat that can take two additional people.  I have a trailblazer as well so the drive is comfortable.  I mainly fish for bass, but much of my bass gear will work for other fish too.  I just don't have much knowledge in finding other species.  I'm not one for trolling.  With enough advance I'm sure I can attend.
