Where is everyone's place to fish when the weather gets hot and toasty?  I will say one of my favorites is at Kingman.  The lake is full of lily pads and the water under them are always cool.  I enjoy wading on the shore and casting a spinnerbait as far as I can and try to land on top of the pads then I just bounce it from pad to pad and on a break that it barely creeps into the water a bass always engulfs it.  Of course you want a good braided line since lily pads are tough to fight in.  I myself should get a heavier braid for when I do get a large bass, but most I can coax out with my 15ish lb fireline.  I just like Kingman because I can fish there at any time of the day and bass will bite.  Also very few other fisherman fish in the lily pads.  I see them fish the open water.  I haven't been there in a few weeks to see how the pads are growing, but I now the vegetation is getting thick where those two islands are.  That's my colder weather fishing spot.  I catch everything between those two islands when the vegetation is minimal.  I can fish there all day and not even hit the rest of the lake.  I also will use frogs when the spinnerbaits just aren't working.  When they are hiting the lily pads when they here a jingle of my spinnerbait I know they are ready to attack, but when I don't get any response I will go to the frog and have a quiet approach.  I sometimes use a strike king zero senko bait as well since it can fall on top of any vegetation without catching all the slop.  My next trip will be Butler though since I haven't been there this year at all and it has really good numbers of bass.

I wish I had the ability to choose.  For me it goes like this.  Friday rolls around and I'd like to fish, but sometimes there are family responsibilities I need to tackle first, so I go to the closest place I think I'll catch fish.  Friday may be a little public pond I have to hike to, or I may try to find a one of those private ponds that let you fish em.  We'll see.  Good luck at Butler.
