Good morning to all from MrThrills in Wichita, Kansas. Last year I was allowed to obtain a lease on an exclusive sandpit here in Wichita. The owners have a herd of elk and their calls are very strange. I have seen turkey there also. Never knew there were wild turkey inside the city limits. Actual turkey, not the human kind.

They just pushed a bunch of trees that were growing along the bank into the water late last year. Can't wait to fish them this year when the weather gets warmer. I fish from a float tube. Very fun way to fish. Been fishing that way for the last 50 years. Most float tubers use swim fins but I use what I call kickers. They propel you forward instead of backward like the swim fins do. I saw pictures of 9lb bass and 10lb catfish caught from this pit. I hope to catch something big this year during the prespawn and spawn periods. Biggest fish last year was a 5 1/2 lb smallmouth bass but I had my line broken several times. Finally switched to 20lb braid and that solved that problem. Happy New Year to all. Never stop learning.
