Nice to have you here! I live up north about 15 minutes from Cincinnati, so I cant really help you on Green river lake. I'm sure there is more of us on here that will provide some tips. We just have to get them to this forum. Check out www.fw.ky.gov  This is Ky's hunting/ fishing web site. You can find just about any lake in Kentucky, and it tells you the species present in that lake. It' s a good resource to have. Hopefully that will get you started.

I'm an NAFC lifer. Live in North East Ky, Carter County, Town of Grayson, in the "Heart of the Parks". We have Grayson Lake, Greenbo State Park, Carter Caves State Park, Paintsville Lake State Park, and lots of rivers to pick from. Some pretty good fish'n. Anyone close?

There are some very good fishing holes around here when the water levels are up. But for one reason or another Cumberland Lake has lowered water levels to the point that my favorite holes are now dry land. On the bright side, there are a lot of private ponds that I have access/permission to fish.

When I was a teenager (way back when) I lived in Paintsville and fished in Grayson & Paintsville lakes. Great bass fishing in both of them.

I heard Cumberland has had a significant  drop to water levels ever since the draught. Hopefully they can stabalize levels down there.  On another note: Everything has frozen up up here so fishing is done for. At least for a few days. After the snow stops, and temps rise above freezing, I'll see if I cant land a few more trout before license renewal.

I think the link below, will take You to a sight, that has info about Lake Cumberland.  And the Woif creek dam.  The dam was found to be leaking, and in need of repairs.  So the lake was lowerd, to prevent the colapse of the dam, until it can be fixed.  I do not remember the time table.  But think it will take 6 years, to do.  If the dam was to break, it would flood Nashville, and most things in between.
