Sometimes the Ky forum is really slow. Just "bump it" from time to time to keep it near the top. Someone will eventually be around to help you out.

Stayed at Moors a couple years back. REAL nice place. Boats they rent are great. Rented a pontoon and we had a great time fishin. The big kahuna knows his stuff and where the fish are. I didn't use him only because my brother-in-law knew where to fish.

Duckman,  October can be very good, or bad on Kentucky Lake.  The lake is very long, and if there is a south wind, it will get very rough.  If You will be there for a week, You will get at least 2 or three good fishing days.  Both lakes are very good for crappie fishing.  I used to fish both lakes.  While I live close to Barkley.  I prefer Kentucky lake.  The moors, is a good choice.  They have a very good guide service.  Just do not tell them that You are only using a guide for one day.  As they will not take You to their best places. I can't remember how long Kentucky lake is.  But know it is over 60 miles. I hope Your dad, has the fishing trip of His life.  And I hope You catch at least a couple of 2 pound crappie.  You may also, want to try a little bass fishing.  Both lakes are very good for that.  In fact they are just plain great fishing lakes.

Duckman, If you have a day, that is not good for fishing.  There are other things to do in the area.  The land Between(LBL) the lakes.  Is a 177,000 acre wilderness.  There are animals, and birds to be seen there, during the fall. There is an Elk, and Bison prary there.  Smith, and Sugar bay, will have bald eagles spending the winter.  And the lakes will have large flocks of white pelicans.  So even if the weather is not good for fishing.  You can still have a fun time.  October is one of the best times for fishing.  So You should do well.  If You are not afraid to go out in an old boat, with a rickity motor.  We could try a couple hours, of fishing for striped bass.  I do not get out much any more.  But do try to go below the dam, for stripers, in the fall.   I do not catch big stripers.  Most are between 4, and 6 pounds.  The biggest, I have caught, is a 13 pound 6 ounce fish.  however, once in a while, I hook up with some fun sized catfish.  The biggest one, was a 35 pound blue cat.  I fish for stripers, from sundown, until they stop feeding.  That is usually about 2 hours.  But on the days they are biting.  I have caught as many as 15 fish in those 2 hours.  If You think you might be interested in trying one night for stripers. Send Me an email.  And we will talk about it.
