I have posted this in the member meets forum also. All active members have decided on the LBL location. I would like all thoughts and opinions to come here, and the member meets thread. The more people that know we are serious, the more people will come. THIS WILL BE THE FIRST KENTUCKY MEET EVER! It is a big deal. Lets pull together and make this thing happen. Thank you all for the input and support.

Any thoughts on a campground, or date? I was thinking sometime in August. Any other thoughts or suggestions?

Hey Fred.If you have it at KY Lake, the wife and I will more than likely make the run down there. As far as suggestions on campgrounds and the like,I have no clue.I have only been to the Paris Landing area.We are going down to Hillman Ferry in June, but that won't help you right now. That will be our first time in KY,we have always been in TN before.Hope to see you all in August. Steve

Thanks for the input guys. As you can see this thread is a little slow from time to time, but I'm sure we will start sorting things out soon.

Here is a link for some campgrounds at Kentucky Lake

    http://www.explorekentuckylake.com/...rounds.htm

I have just glanced over some of the sites, but we should easily be able to decide on a campground. Some of them I have looked over DO offer boat rentals which is a major plus.

So far I think either Big Bear Resort or Sportsman Anchor Resort & Marina would make a great location.

Fred, I will try to get over and check those places out, when they re-open.  Most resorts close down by December.  And open in March, or April.

if you are going to big bear check out moors at the same time they are almost next to one another on the same creek of the lake. just from personal experience i can tell you they will treat you right at moors. i dont know about the other two places.

I would appreciate that Sam. That is your neck of the woods, so I will trust your opinion on the sites.

No problem duckman. This is an all new thing for all of us here.

Have we settled on a date yet? I am starting a new job and I believe I can tell them I have a trip I'm committed to and get that date off. I need to know when though. I'll watch the thread for info or maybe someone can drop me a pm.

    Kentucky Counties Map

Is everyone happy with the location, or should we move it to a more central spot? Also, any thoughts on a date? I'm thinking late spring/early summer. Maybe 1st week in June? Any thoughts?

Hey Steve. Even if the meet isn't during that time I will try to take a day or two off work and drive down for a day of fishing. I will let you know as the time nears.

I can do the 4th, 5th and 6th. I just need to find a camping spot on the water where I can tie off the boat, preferably. Wish I could do the whole week..

Since this is the first meet lets just do it on the weekend. I say we have the meet June 3rd thru the 6th. The 3rd is on a thursday, and the 6th is sunday. I also vote for the meet being at Big Bear Resort on Kentucky Lake. Here is a link. http://www.bigbearkentuckylake.com/ You can find prices from everything from campsites to boat rentals on the link. It would be great if we can get this squared away soon so that everyone has time to make arrangements. What does everyone think?

I just got off the phone with Big Bear Resort, and we will recieve a 10% discount on camping since we are part of a fishing club. Please let me know asap if the date and location is good for everyone. Thanks.
