My name is Bob, live in Clarksville MD and very new to bay fishing. Just retired from a demanding job that left very little time for anything else and starting to discover this sport. So new I am trying to figure out how fast to go when trolling. You know there are no articles that i can find anywhere on this subject. |

Hi Bob
Welcome to living!!!!!!!!!!!. Your trolling speed for stripers should be between 2.6 & 3.0 assuming your gps has a speed read out. Depending on wind, tide & direction you may need to constantly adjust the throttle so keep an eye on the speed.
What are you trolling? Umbrella's with parachute trailers? Do you use planer boards? I would be glad to answer any questions you have on trolling. Its getting too late in the summer to really troll so I would be concentrating on live lining now. Thats how you will have the most fun & catch some decent fish on light tackle. regards, bob g.
