Hey I am newer to the area and interested in camping at some of the state parks and of course getting some fishing in. Does anyone know of any good parks that have great fishing close to the Newton/waltham area??

I would try Harold Parker State Forest up in North Andover (http://www.mass.gov/dcr/parks/north...harp.htm), although I haven't had much luck with the fishing outside of the sunfish. Appalachian Mountain Club has a campground on Ponkapoag Pond in Randolph/Canton (http://www.outdoors.org/lodging/cab...apoag.cfm) and that pond is a little more consistent.

I have had great luck fishing Harold  Parker State forest. You have to walk around the whole park lots of nice size Bass. I caught most of the bass last year on plastic worms and some spinner baits I have not camped out there yet. But some of my ffiends have and they say it is really nice.

There is some excellent fishing at Wadon Pond and White's Pond in Concord

Shore acess around Waldon is excelent and White's it great if you have waders

both ponds are stock with rainbows, browns and salmon also they are very good bass ponds. If you have a little jon boat they are even better.

A little know serect pond in Waltham that nobody fishes is Hardy Pond there is big bass in there but you need a jon boat or canoe.

    PM for more info
