    Hello Fellow NAFC Members

I was wondering if anyone could provide me with some info. I have found myself with a few days off during the week next week (May 7-9) and wanted to do some surf fishing. Could anyone recommend a good beach to catch some fish? Species is less important than just having something tug the end of my line after a long winter.  Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Isky1978@yahoo.com

Pretty much any beach will do. Bit I would suggest any large river mouth at this time of the year for surf casting. As the striped bass are starting to hitting the rivers going after the alwife and harring. The beachs will be more productive next month in early June.  Now the key to fishing the beachs is knowing where to fish them. Look at Google Earth and take a good look at the beach from over head that your planing on fishing. Look for darker holes Depending or what your tossing Bait of Lures and knowing the depth and tides will determine weather or not you'll catch anything. When I work the beachs I like to have one or two rods with bait and 1 for tossing a lure or just walking and tossing a lure. It pretty much comes down to the tides though. You'll find it better if you work a beach the first two hour before high tide and the first two hours of the tide going out. Good luck.
