since Friday is Opening Day at Comerica, there should be lots of room on the water, since 700,000 people will be at the game!

Did they add on to Comerica Park? It doesn't look that big on TV!

nope, no additions to the park, but when you talk to various people, 4 out of 5 will say they were at Opening Day or at the Stanley Cup Parade, etc...

Just went fishing this past Sunday to test the waters at Belle Maer Harbor. I threw a Mepps #4 Long out shootin for some pike, and accidentally hooked into a largie. 3 pound male, not too bad for my first soft water fish of the season. Threw him back in of course, I didn't want DNR bustin my chops.

I just went out yesterday and caught a bunch of dead weeds. The old lady hooked a snail and got thoroughly excited, though.

I'm headin out tomorrow. It's "supposed" to be 64 and Sunny. Should be a good day to wet a line. I hope everyone else gets a chance, too.

Got out today on my new boat, went to the old honey hole and had a ball.  Caught several nothern pike, one keeper, and a dandy Smallmouth, 18.5" 3.1 lbs. Picture on profile.

The weather turned out great and was so nice to relax and catch some fish. Will begin prefishing some lakes for the upcoming bass tournaments and season. Hope everyone is getting out.

If you're coming to the West MI area give me a shout and we can drop a line.

Nice Chuck! Me and a buddy got out Sunday, and pulled out 4 largies a piece. I hooked into a big ol hogger, must have been a 5 pound female, but she wiggled herself loose right at the seawall. We're hoping to go out again this weekend and pull out some more. I figure by this weekend/next week they'll be in full spawn swing. Best of luck to everyone.

I haven't exactly ran into any "hoggers" this year, yet.  The only bass I've caught this year have been 10 inches or less.

Pictures of them are in my photo album in my profile, as well as on my website.

I hope you catch some bigguns soon, Fanatic. About now is the perfect time to start tryin. My buddy Brent found a secret little hot spot that apparently few people know about. We're plannin on headin there this weekend. Hopefully we can catch some spawnin honey's interested in my skirted jig.

Thanks, Mike!

Yeah, the bass in my area should start spawning when the weather improves.  I'm planning on flippin' 5 inch plastic lizzards into their beds.  Sure hope that'll work.

I mainly fish in a few local ponds that not many people even think there's fish in.  The majority of the bigger bass I catch are from those places.  When I tell people about how good the fishing is in those ponds, people make comments like, "You fish in there!  You can't be serious!" and "Bigger fish are caught in larger lakes, not those little ponds you like to fish in!".  I know that for a fact to be wrong.   On some occasions I fish at Kent Lake (you probably know where that is) and Maltby Lake, which is in the Huron Meadows Metropark.
