I'm going back out to Kent Lake this evening to catch some giant Longnose Gar. Didn't catch any crappie or Smallmouth Bass this morning, but I did see some nice Bluegills and some giant gar. |

Went fishing today at a local pond. I caught a bunch of Bluegill, Pumpkinseed, and Redear Sunfish off of a dry fly I tied myself. After a while of catching sunfish, I decided to make a few casts with my spinnerbait. What looked to be a good sized bass short-struck it, but didn't take it. |

I figured they wouldn't be too lethargic, because it was almost 70 degrees (well...at least where I was at). The bank is extremely muddy, so it captures the heat from the sun. All the fish I caught were warmer than my hands! It was also pretty windy and there was a good amount of chop on the surface of the water, so a spinnerbait looked like a good option. I probably would have caught that bass if it hadn't struck from the angle it did. This weekend, I'm heading up to a local pond to do some big bass (big for Michigan bass) fishing with some 3 to 4 inch minnows. I'm planning on fishing around deep structure and drop-offs. I'll tell you how I do. |

Come on Bill! I've got faith in you. Where's the good steely fishing down there in buckeye land? |
