    i'll be in mich. this weekend near the walhalla area.want to do some ice fishing with father-in-law.would like to know if any of you fish this area like round lake,ford,gooseneck oor may make a trip into the ludingto area.looking for panfish,'eyes,and maybe some pike.also,would like to know the ice conditions.suggestions will be helpful.

    farmerred, i would go to hamlin lake. it has big gill,pike and eyes.it is a great lake. good luck and be safe.

    thanks dave.father-in-law checked it out yesterday.talked to some guys going out on the ice and they told him the perch where hitting towards the evening hours and the gills,pike and 'eyes could be caught about all day.said the ice was good as long as the weather held up.will try it out on fri.and maybe hit lake p.m. on sat.

    got back home today from up north.fished round and long lakes on fri.and caught a few small perch and hsd 1 run on tip-up.fished hamilin on sat for about 6 hrs.and caught 2 keeper gills and probably 50 perch about 3-6in.long.ice was about 12-14 on both lakes.got a little soft on the top 1-2 in by days end.fishing not good but,good time away from the hectick world.going back this summer to try hamlin for some eyes and pike.

    the eye's and the pike are there farmer red and if ya time it right some mighty good brown fishing can be had too.

    that's what a couple of the locals told me when i was there.they said the fishing has been hit or miss this year.one of the older gentleman i talked to stated:if you can make it back up in early june i could get into some great pike and walleyes.have time off scheduled but,might be making hay about the same time.may just have to burn some sick days after hay is done to get over my fishing fever.
