BigDog68, I am all for it. I was hoping there would be a state chapter as I am sure quite a few NAFC members are from Minnesota. It shouldn't be too hard to find a VFW with a banquet room to host monthly meetings. Anyone interested?

MN is a large state with members scattered to all four corners, travelling to the cities for meetings would be a deterent to most, most likely a small group in the area will be the officers and do most of or all the work. The only way to get others involved is to go on regular fishing outings to the rest of the state and get the members near there to come. Dues for funding these activities may be another problem.

I totally agree with you my4x4yj. Form small groups and appoint the club officers. Discuss various topics and have fun club tournaments. It would be great way to meet other fellow NAFC members!

Anyone in the Twin Cities area?

That's what we are doing here in Ohio. We have our "planning meetings" at different locations around the state, which is picked by a different member each time. There are no "dues" in a state chapter, as your NAFC dues are already paid for. Start out small like we did, we set up a "meeting" at an area resturant that had a large banquet room for groups, we had breakfast and then had our meeting afterwards. We then had nominations for officers and elected them in which is a one year term. After we got the groundwork set up for the Ohio Chapter, we started making plans on our first Ohio Meet. Most of us donated some money to put in the general fund, then we purchased rolls of raffle tickets at the local Wal-Mart and started getting sponsors and donors to donate items for a raffle and started selling tickets to raise funds for the chapter. We even raffled off 3 Fishing Charter Trips from PlayinHooky Charters & Rising Sun Charters, both here in Ohio. If you have any questions, feel free to drop in the Ohio page and ask, we'll be glad to help out. Good Luck to you & we look forward to seeing a Minnesota Chapter get started up in the near future. Hope this little bit of info helps. Have a good evening from BigDog... Cool<!--graemlin::cool:-->

I understand R/T, Mabe like some of the guys were saying about having small groups in different areas and have a rep from each area be an officer. Those of you that do not make the LaCrosse Meet, Mabe you could organize a "Mini-Meet" once a year and you could all attend that. Have it at a different location each year to make it fair to everyone, same thing for planning meetings... Wink<!--graemlin:;)--> Just an idea, trying to help out... Cool<!--graemlin::cool:-->

I think the smaller group thing sounds good...regional would probably work the best but, then again who knows. I'm all for it though

Yeah, The larger states have been talking about dividing into smaller parts. Florida would have a North Fla.Chapter, Central Fla.Chapter & South Fla. Chapter, same with Texas & California and possibly a few others. Whatever works best for each state so members can get together at least once a year... Big Grin<!--graemlin::D-->
