I work with a guy that grew up there and goes back regularly to visit his parents and does some fishing there, the fihing reports from the DNR early this spring were that the walleye were supposed to be pratically jumping in the boat but the truth is that they are hard to come by in fact the several tournements held there are even having a hard time producing any numbers of fish. About the only consistantly producing fishing is at night bobber fishing leaches in the center of the waterway or fish for white bass along the shore line and you can catch fish until your arms ache.

The bottom line of ANY of these bigger lakes that get the heavy boat traffic during the day is to fish EARLY in the morning and / or LATE in the evening. Smiler<!--graemlin::)-->

the way the gentleman was telling me was whatever you threw at them would catch them. I was there the first weekend of May and caught all the bass on crank baits going around the shore wherever there was water coming coming in on the shore, wasn't much. Trying for walleye caught two one 23 1/2", one 21" and fifty of sixty bass all about 14" to 16". Very fun to catch but not what I wanted. There was a tournement going on first annual border battle or some such thing, I was told by another coworker that I met at the lake that stayed for the weigh in that my fish would have placed very high showing how tough the bite is for walleye. You can use two rods put out a bobber with leach and cast a crank bait or twister tail with the other is what I would do and as was said by Dave, be prepared for lots of boat traffic during the day, also if you fish the north end of the lake watch out for sunken logs, rocks and a reef.

FISHIN4FUN,White bass will allmost allways go for a slow moveing (wounded slow moveing crank) like a berkly frenzy, and such,,, davesett is right when he tells you about the traffic in the daylight hours, walleye will split from where they were feeding in the morning when boats invade there teritory, and will return at night, I would troll a simple crawler harness in the morning away from the traffic, at least a hundred yards away, the EYES are going away from the noise, if no luck, drift with it, be patiant,,, at night, try a crawler harness on one side and a shad rap on the other side while trolling slow, i use yellow bird planners at night cuz they are small and dont make any nois at all, Good luck, Wink<!--graemlin:;)-->
