The Minnesota Muskie Expo is this weekend March 7, 8 & 9, at the National Sport Center in Blaine. I plan to take a half day off from work this Friday and attend the show. Is anyone going?

Hope to see some of you at the show!

I didn't make it this year, but my kids had a great time last year.  How was it this year?

It was a great time! I was there Friday night for about 4 hours. They had all kind of toys! I ended up spending only $40 for two bucktails. One of the bucktails is called the Assassin-X manufactured by A-Team Tackle. It was mentioned in a seminar I attended conducted by muskie "professor" Bob Mehsikomer. The lure looked great in the demo! I will be back next year for sure.

Why do they have it on muskie opener weekend? Wouldn't they get more people a week or two earlier? I did not go this year but will try and make it next year.

I plan on going again this year to the Muskie Expo, most likely on Apr. 5th to attend Larry Dahlberg's seminar. The location has moved this year to Concordia University in St. Paul.

In regards to the bucktails, I used the Assassin-X last year on Lake Vermilion. Great bait and super vibration but a pain to reel in... Although I didn't catch anything on it, I think it would work great as a follow-up bait on a following fish, however. I am a big fan now of the Cowgirls!
