Anyone here ever fish Wappapello Lake, and if so got any good spots to fish it or baits that worked well on it?

Also, I am looking for a fishing partner in SE MO.  Got a guy that goes with me now, but I have to foot the bill for everything.  I figure I supply the boat and the truck to pull it to the lake, the least he could do is buy some gas and some bait.

I mainly bass fish, but I crappie fish some and have even been known to catch some catfish on occasion.  I used to fish Wappapello a lot, but haven't fished it in a couple years.  I know I used to catch alot of crappie out of it, and me and a friend used to jug it for cats at night.  If you can stand the misquitos you can catch some really nice cats in the 15 to 20 lb range like that.  Other than one 6 pounder that I caught there about 5 years ago, I've never really figured out where and how to catch the good bass there.  If you're up for a fishing trip to Wappepello just let me know when, I'm usually fising somewhere every weekend.  Or if your interested I've got another little Conservation Dept lake that I fish alot, and have been catching quite a few bass out of this year.  Been averaging 8 to 10 fish on every trip and I've caught several nice sized fish out of there this year, including a 7.5 pounder 2 weeks ago.

Otter Slough is the Conservation Dept lake I was refering to.  I've caught 5 or 6 fish over 4 lbs out of there this year.  That sounds good, just let me know on the dates I'm sure we can work something out.

Sounds good, but Bow season starts Sept 15.  If the weather is nice and cool, I'll be in a tree stand every weekend after that.  If it stays hot, which it usually does around here til at least mid Oct, I'll be fishing.

Duckman,  I fished Otter Slough over the weekend and only caught 2 bass all day, but it was in the mid 50's and very windy, so that could have had something to do with it.  If your still interested in a fishing trip get in touch.  I'll be fishing at least the next 2 weekends before bow season comes in, if the weather stays cool like it is now, I'll be huntung after that.  But if it warms back up I'll be fishing.

oh yea a crappie fish and bass fish over there and just a little beetle spin with a hollow bodied tube jig catches both.
